Founder and Creative Designer at Kevin Gray Design – Began his Career in Europe, Built it in New York and Miami, and has a Globally Audience Through Social Media and his Lighting Products.
The firm was founded in the early '90s, long before the internet became prevalent. Throughout its history, Kevin Gray has relied on word-of-mouth referrals from a trusted network of high-earning Miami clients, cultivating a reputation for transforming homes and lifestyles with his unique aesthetic. However, as technology has rapidly evolved, a strong online presence has become essential for showcasing potential and quality. To ensure that Kevin Gray Design remains one of the top interior design firms in Miami and New York, the studio's website needed a complete overhaul.
Design a Responsive, Professional Studio Website Showcasing the Company's Projects, Lighting Products, Press – Printed and Digital, Social Media, Travel Documentaries and Television; and a Professional Stylised Blog and Newsletter to Drive Traffic to the Website.
We created a modern clean responsive website that showcases Kevin Gray Design's projects, lighting products, published editorials, online television appearances, travel documentaries, blogs, and newsletters. It is crucial to provide a cohesive platform that aligns with the KGD brand, ensuring that the website's navigation are refined and user-friendly.
With changes in Google's search algorithms, optimising the Google Search Console’s Page Validation service is vital for enhancing search ability. Effective branding required meticulous management under a global directory, eliminating unnecessary coding and ensuring template designs were cohesive across all pages.
Additionally, new press pages were introduced to streamline content categorisation, while a redesigned footer navigation system was implemented to prevent overlap among editorials, books, projects, and blogs. Users can now scroll seamlessly throughout and view images in a large format, a feature favoured by leading architecture firms.
Design User-Friendly and Compelling Content with Seamless Engagement Across all Devices
With 60% of searches now conducted on mobile devices—rising to 72% in some sectors—creating responsive web pages that function seamlessly across all platforms is essential. These pages must not only operate efficiently but also reflect the high design standards of the showcased products and interiors. The aim is to instil a sense of trust, ensuring that all pages are accessible and professional on any device. Additionally, double independent Editorial pages should be prioritised as single pages on mobile.
Effective navigation on Project, Book, and Editorial pages is crucial, allowing users to easily return to their starting point without feeling lost. By prioritising responsive design, meticulous styling, and intuitive navigation, the website can deliver a seamless and engaging experience that enhances the presentation of high-quality design products and interiors across all platforms.
Iconic, Intuitive, Stylish, Professional, and Trustworthy
The new logo needed to convey a sense of high value, exclusivity, and directionality, providing clarity that adds value for clients. Maintaining familiarity was crucial to preserving the company’s identity while ensuring the visual identity reflected sophistication, luxury, and uniqueness. Therefore, the logo "KEVIN GRAY DESIGN," with the text in all capitals and "GRAY" in bold, was retained and redefined in Adobe Illustrator to ensure the logo remains crisp and current.
Remaining logos on the website retained the KGD initials bled over the orange box but adopted the new Barlow Condensed font, aligning with the website's text and complementing the Futura used in the logo. This updated design enhances the overall visual identity while staying true to the brand's cultural essence.
Modern, Cultural, Identifiable, Grounded
Upon taking over the administration of the website, Studio Brosnan noted a diverse array of orange hues selected by various users, alongside undefined shades of grey. To address this, we consulted the company's archives and reinstated the original logos from printed materials, effectively redefining KGD's authentic colour palette. By leveraging the website's Design System and Global Colour settings, Studio Brosnan successfully established a cohesive colour branding strategy for consistent application throughout the site.
