CSM BRIEF
Psycho-Active Expressive Typography.
To express your personal interpretation of the meaning of the written word.
Think of one word, which has a special meaning. ‘Express’ this word somehow… Reflect on its meaning, content, and power.
APPROACH
The word ‘Private,’ has been instrumental in my life, from the way in which I was educated, to the way I have an appreciation of fine things. My desire for fine things is a response to experiencing high-end lifestyles and their association with the rich and famous. ‘Private’ can also relate to my own curiosity to explore decadent boundaries; experience sexual encounters and enjoy other hedonistic adventures and events.
Here, I have created psychoactive expressive typography as a unique expression of ‘art and language.’
Conceptualized in a dream, I have placed the emphasis on my own emotional interpretation and psychoanalytical response. The quality of the design and material, were absolute requirements, assuring its perfection.
OUTCOME
With each artist comes an array of experiences whether that is through cultural, social, or work-related. Imbedded from a very early age, the experience can also be derived from behavioral, genetic, and psychological outcomes.
As a fashion model in Japan, I would be requested occasionally to work as an art model for leading fashion photographer's personal work. Some shoots would require me to wear bondage-related accessories, or geometric props that would transform me into a surrealistic image, or as commodification of desire. Here, the word ‘Private’ encapsulates these past experiences and enlightens the viewer’s subconsciousness to enter into a discourse of art and sexuality.
